The only thing more amazing than the difference in graffics from then to now is the horrendous stupidity in the comments on that video :P

This wasn't just before the BWE, it was before the WPE in October 2004 and the E34E event, the first public viewing of GW in early 2004.

Those shots of the early GW is more or less exactly how WoW looks now. 0.o

It looks like WoW... I'm glad they upped it to more than 12 polys per char.

I can't believe how many people are just insisting that this isn't Guild Wars in the comment part of the video. GW has definately evolved a lot since then, I for one am glad they got rid of the cartoony graphics and went for the more realistic-looking environments.

I've seen a video like this before and it still amazes me how big the difference is between the Alpha test and the Beta Public tests (which is when I started playing).

If the Anet devs did sell their souls, it was worth it!

Compared to many current RPGs, GW still has some of the MOST intense, detailed and realistic graphic creations around.
Detailed? yes. Realistic? Not really

They still need to optimize the texture loadtimes imo. Kamadan = 20-40 seconds on a 1 gig, 3.0 intel, 256vram.

I think the biggest difference would be the "glow effect" that was added later on.

Probably. Nothing against those that do, but personally, I thought it looked hideous.

Very Neat, It is amazing how the Classics can bring people together.

Would you like Anet to put a GW "classic" optional play, just for the 'WoW' version of it?
